Symptoms of Low T

If you experience one or more of these symptoms, you may be suffering from low testosterone.

Erectile dysfunction

Low-T reduces nitric oxide synthesis, which is essential for the vessels carrying blood to the penis.

Decreased libido

Low-T reduces the hormonal stimulation necessary for sexual desire and arousal.

Fatigue

Low-T reduces production of red blood cells, which impairs oxygen delivery to tissues and decreases overall energy levels.

Poor sleep

Low-T reduces the production of melatonin, a hormone essential for promoting restful sleep.

Mood changes

Low-T alters the levels of serotonin and dopamine, key neurotransmitters involved in regulating emotions.

Difficulty concentrating

Low-T impacts neural circuits involved in attention and executive function, thus diminishing cognitive performance.

Loss of muscle mass

Low-T reduces protein synthesis and increases protein breakdown in muscle tissue.

Increased body fat

Low-T slows metabolism, increasing fat storage in the body.

Reduced facial and body hair growth

Low-T shortens the time hair spends growing, resulting in thinner hair.

Testosterone Myth

Testosterone myth

Testosterone has often been mistakenly labelled as "the aggressive hormone", but limited studies have supported this notion. Anger itself comes from an interplay between different hormones, of which testosterone plays just one part. In reality, testosterone plays a number of crucial roles in the body which provide benefits that outweigh the minimal risk of anger.

Testosterone Truth

Testosterone truth

Testosterone is a hormone produced in the testicles that is crucial for male health, regulating muscle mass, bone density, erections, libido, mood, cognition, energy levels, cardiovascular health, and weight management.

Maintaining healthy testosterone levels can contribute to a happier, healthier, and longer life.

Classifications of low testosterone

Low testosterone (clinically known as hypogonadism) can be classified based on its origin and cause. There are two common classifications.

Origin: Also known as primary testicular failure, primary hypogonadism arises directly from problems within the testicles.

Common causes: The causes of primary hypogonadism can be diverse, ranging from genetic disorders like Klinefelter's Syndrome to physical issues such as undescended testicles, testicular injury, or the effects of cancer treatment. Ageing can also play a significant role in its development.

In these cases, the testicles themselves are impaired and fail to produce sufficient levels of testosterone.

Origin: Secondary hypogonadism occurs when there is an issue with the hypothalamus or pituitary gland, which regulate testosterone production.

Common causes: Causes include pituitary disorders, chronic illnesses, obesity, or the use of certain medications that interfere with hormone production.

Unlike primary hypogonadism, the testicles may be normal but are not receiving the necessary signals to produce testosterone.

Why D3?

  • 40% of men are deficient in vitamin D3.
  • Several studies have shown an association between low vitamin D levels and low testosterone levels.
  • Men with vitamin D deficiency had significantly lower levels of total and free testosterone compared to men with adequate vitamin D levels.
  • Vitamin D plays a role in the production and regulation of testosterone. It does this by:
    • Stimulating the production of Leydig cells in the testes, which are responsible for producing testosterone.
    • Enhancing the conversion of androstenedione to testosterone.
    • Regulating the activity of enzymes involved in testosterone metabolism.
  • D3 is also critical for boosting energy levels in the body.

Significant contributors to low testosterone

Increase Natural-T Production

  • Severe testosterone deficiency (<8 nmol/L) may require testosterone-replacement therapy (TRT), but all men can benefit from natural male enhancement vitamins and herbs to increase or maintain healthy levels.
  • Studies with natural ingredients like Tongkat Ali, L-Arginine, vitamin B12, and Bioperine have shown improvements in T-levels and sexual performance.
  • Ginseng improves blood flow while restoring vigor and longevity, while the amino acid L-Arginine can help improve sexual responses.

Cognitive Support

  • Low-T impacts neural circuits involved in attention and executive function, thus diminishing cognitive performance and increasing symptoms such as brain fog.
  • Amino acids such as Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE Bitartrate), L-Glutamine, and GABA enhance neuroactivity, while plant extracts such as Bacopa alter neurochemistry to improve focus and overall cognitive abilities.
  • Supplementing with these natural components can counteract the negative cognitive effects of low-T and help you regain your mental clarity, sharpness, and drive.
